ABOUT THE JOB
Virtual Days is building the next-generation platform for digital recruitment events and large-scale talent engagement. We work with several large employers and reach hundreds of thousands of candidates every year.
We are rebuilding our platform on a clean and scalable architectural foundation. A strong backend is already in place, and your role is to define the architecture going forward, build core features and shape the technical direction of the platform.
As our Founding Full-Stack Tech Lead, you will work hands-on across C#, .NET 9, GraphQL, React, Next.js and TypeScript. You will collaborate closely with the founders, influence product and engineering decisions, and have the opportunity to become a substantial owner through our generous options program.
We are remote-first. If you are based in Stockholm, you are welcome to work from our centrally located office.

Responsibilities
Design and own the platform architecture and implementation strategy
Build new features across the full stack
Extend the backend including authentication, SSO, admin portal and real-time chat
Take responsibility for the application infrastructure and deployment setup, including Kubernetes-based environments
Define structure and best practices for the frontend application
Collaborate with the remote engineering team, design and product
Use AI tools such as Cursor and Copilot to increase development speed
Review code and support the growth of mid-level developers
Requirements

Strong experience with C# and .NET

Strong experience with React, Next.js and TypeScript

Experience with Kubernetes or k3s
-
Experience with Postgres (pgbouncer is a plus)

Solid understanding of software architecture and system design

Comfortable working across backend and frontend

Experience with or openness to GraphQL

Proven ability to build scalable web applications

Hands-on mindset with strong ownership

Comfortable working independently and driving development

Interest in AI-assisted development workflows
Preferred Qualifications
Terraform
Grafana stack (Loki, Prometheus, Alloy, Tempo)
Experience with real-time features such as chat or WebSockets
Background as a lead engineer or architect
Based in Stockholm or able to join in person occasionally
